Artist Notes:
"Johnny Rutherford dominated the 1980 Indy 500 with his bright yellow Pennzoil Chaparral. Starting from the pole he led the race seven times for a total of 118 laps and crossed the finish line 30 seconds ahead of runner-up Tom Sneva to claim his third Indy 500 victory. Johnny won a total of 27 Indy car victories and 23 pole positions and ranks 5th on the all-time winner list. He had five victories in the 1980 season when he won the National Driving Championship for the Indy Car competition, and in 1988 he was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and the Motorsports Hall of Fame in America."
