Vision Gran Turismo
This marquetry is composed of 520 separate inlays of various shapes and sizes, cut from 13 different precious woods, and varnished with a satin finish.
Artist Notes:
"This concept car was featured at the Frankfurt International Motor Show to showcase new technology, in the tradition of this classic French manufacturer. My challenge was to reproduce the carbon effects in wood, and also find two tints of Bugatti blue closest to reality. Many cuts in this work are particularly complex, for example the names of sponsors and parts of the wheel rims. The car is made from tulipwood and rippled sycamore. The tires are fossil oak and the background is cut from a wonderful rippled maple, dyed grey."
